It is my joy in life to find
At every turn of the road,
The strong arm of a comrade kind,
To help me with my load.And since I have no gold to give
And love alone must make amends,
My only prayer is while I live
“God make me worthy of my friends!”

I think that God will never send,
A gift so precious as a friend,
A friend who always understands,
And fills each need as it demands,
Whose loyalty will stand the test,
When skies are bright or overcast,
Who sees the faults that merit blame,
But keeps on loving just the same,
Who does far more than creeds could do,
To make us good, to make us true,
Earth’s gifts a sweet contentment lend,
But only God can give a friend.

You magnify my happiness
When I am feeling glad;
You help to heal my injured heart
Whenever I am sad.You’re such a pleasure in my life;
I hope that you can see
How meaningful your friendship is;
You’re a total joy to me.

You are the friend, I could always count on.
Without looking hard, you’d always be there.Through struggles and fights, some from you and of mine.
No matter the issue, you’d always be there.I don’t think I thanked you, or appreciated your pursue.
Even if I didn’t want you, you’d always be there.So now that I look back, and am thankful for you,
I hope you know I’m glad, you’d always be there.

uniquely valuable!
Right now, think of your positive qualities,
and things you can do better

I hold no dream of fortune vast,
Nor seek undying fame.
I do not ask when life is past
That many know my name.I may not own the skill to rise
To glory’s topmost height,
Nor win a place among the wise,
But I can keep the right.And I can live my life on earth
Contented to the end,
If but a few shall know my worth
And proudly call me friend.

Like music heard on still waters,
Like pines when the wind passeth by,
Like pearls in the deep of the ocean,
Like stars which enamel the sky,
Like June and the odor or roses,
Like dew and the freshness of morn,
Like sunshine which kisses the clover,
Like tassels of silk on the corn,
Like notes of thrush in the woodland,
Like brooks where violets grown,
Like rainbows that arch the blue heaven,
Like clouds when the sun dippeth low,
Like dreams of Arcadian pleasure
Like colors which gracefully blend,
Like everything breathing of pureness,
Like these is the love of a friend.

When troubles come a callin’
As those gremlins often do,
And my spirit keeps on fallin’
Till I feel low down and blue…When I look around for comfort,
Someone quickly jumps to mind,
One who always will support me,
And whose words are always kind.Who will make my mood feel lighter,
Who’ll help beat my troubles back,
He/She makes the sun shine brighter
And gets my spirit back on track.Who helps the road seem straighter,
And helps me get around each bend,
Who makes each day seem greater,
And that someone is you, my friend.

You always answer when I call
And help me up if I should fall,
But you never complain at all,
My true friend.You confront me when I am wrong
But will never scold me for long,
Instead, you try to keep me strong,
My true friend.You know the funny things to say
To make me laugh my fears away.
Like the sun, you brighten my day,
My true friend.You see in me gifts I deny
And urge me to give things a try.
You spread for me my wings to fly,
My true friend.You always perceive what I need
And offer it before I plead.
Just like a book, my mind you read,
My true friend.

You value little things I do
But won’t brag of what you do too.
How can I ever repay you,
My true friend?

And greatest of all I have found
When times are tough and I’m down,
You are the one who sticks around,
My true friend.

Friendship needs no studied phrases,
polished face, or winning wiles;
Friendship deals no lavish praises,
Friendship dons no surface smiles.Friendship follows Nature’s diction,
Shuns the blandishments of Art,
Boldly severs truth from fiction,
Speaks the language of the heart.Friendship favors no condition,
Scorns a narrow-minded creed,
Lovingly fulfills its mission,
Be it word or be it deed.
Friendship cheers the faint and weary,
Makes the timid spirit brave,
Warns the erring, lights the dreary,
Smooths the passage to the grave.Friendship – pure, unselfish friendship,
All through life’s allotted span,
Nurtures, strengthens, widens, lengthens,
Man’s relationship with man.

When tears fell from my eyes,
you were there to brush them away.
When I was lost in confusion,
you were there to say that everything would be okay.
When I stood before you falling apart,
you were there to lend your heart.
When I felt like no one could understand,
you were there to take my hand.
When no one else was left to care,
you were there.

Treasured friend, I’m glad I found you;
Our friendship is a gift we share.
I can be myself around you,
Safe in your love and care.I miss you when you’re out of sight;
Our friendship bond was meant to be.
I think of you with great delight;
You’re almost part of me.Through fun and fears, play and tears,
We help each other heal and grow.

When you’re sad and depressed,

O, my friend,
What fitting word can I say?
You, my chum,
My companion of infinite talks,

Through whom I saw myself at best;

A charm,
Product and treasure of these States.

From the day that I first knew you,
Your heart was pure and kind;
Your smile was sweet and innocent,
Your wit was well refined.The sparkle in your eyes was keen,
Your friendship fast and real;
Soft words were your virtue,
And humor your appeal.We grew as friends together,
We laughed and shared our dreams;
Along the way crush or two,
Went unrevealed, it seems.As years rolled on, our paths were split,
Our roads went separate ways;
We each pursued our interests,
That occupied our days.

We soon forgot our youthful bliss,
Of tender carefree years;
We didn’t talk or keep in touch,
Throughout life’s pain and tears.

Then my darkest hour came,
And tried me to my core;
To save my heart from ruin,
I closed and locked the door.

Then out of every nowhere,
With precise directed cue;
An old familiar smile,
Came slowly into view.

Although much time was gone,
And the die of fate long cast;
It was as if we hadn’t missed,
A second of the past.

You listened with attentive care,
And reassured my mind;
That loving hearts are still alive,
With purpose and design.

Deep inside I’ve locked way,
Emotions yet untold;
As time goes on, and bonds grow strong,
They will all unfold.

So thank you, friend, for taking time,
To demonstrate your love;
It’s yet another blessing that,
I’m undeserving of.

Saying goodbye
Was the hardest thing to do.
I never thought I would,
Especially not to you.You always listened
And knew what to say,
Knew when to give a hug
When I was having a bad day.No one will ever take your place.
I can always promise you this.
It’s hard to find someone like you,
So know you’ll always be missed.

A friend is someone always there
in the back of your mind,
providing feelings of comfort and security.
A friend is someone
who adds happy sparkle to your life,
joy, fun, a predictable creator of happiness.
A friend is a stormproof shelter
from life’s challenges, troubles, uncertainties,
an unassailable bond overcoming any challenge,
strengthening the connection in the process.

When I see you in the morning,
it brightens up my day.
There are so many thoughts on my mind,
so many words I want to say.I want to tell you how I feel,
but the words I cannot find.
They’re all mixed up with my thoughts
that are running through my mind.I’ve been keeping it locked up
because I know there’s not a chance.
You never look my way.
You don’t even take a glance.You don’t even know you’re doing this,
toying with my heart.
I wish I could just tell you,
but I don’t know where to start.

Should I tell you how much you mean to me
or how badly I want to be with you?
If I were to say these things
how would you react, what would you do?

Would you never talk to me again?
Would you never look my way?
That would just bring me back
to where I am today.

Then I’d start all over
and choose a different route
to make you understand
my feelings that want out.

I don’t know what to do
or even how to say.
Maybe I should lock it up
and keep myself away.

My heart would ache even more,
but maybe for the good.
I just really want to tell you
only if I could.

A friend is like a forest,
Or a lovely, calm blue sea,
A refuge from life’s problems,
As only a friend can be.A friend is like a song,
Soothing to the brain,
Distracting us from trouble,
Neutralizing pain.A friend is like some ice cream
On a sweltering summer day,
Making life delicious,
In a friend’s own special way.A friend is like a blanket,
Bringing peace and rest,
A cocoon of warmth and pleasure;
When we are tired or stressed.

A friend is a bit of everything
That makes life good and sweet,
And you, my friend, are all that;
You make my life complete!

When someone’s having a bad day,
A smile could go a long way,
So make sure to put one on
And keep it until the day is gone.
You don’t know what this deed
Could do for a friend in need.
It might save them from the pain
Of a sadness they cannot contain.
Don’t ask what a smile can do
Because I’m sure it once helped you.

Friends…
They’re the few people who accept silence over conversation.
A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion.
You don’t feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words.
Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds.
They’re the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn.
Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn.

someone with whom I can share
ideas, laughs, troubles, fun,
my innermost thoughts,
things I tell no one else,
someone who listens
and really cares.
That is why

Made my life cheerful and bright,
Showering your affection over me
So that my face was full of glee.
Taking away my complete loneliness
And giving me back all the happiness
With a Midas touch of your care
